Piano/Guitar/Voice lessons in Los Angeles and West Los Angeles
Azuri Moon began playing guitar at age 11. After years touring with the Grateful Dead as a young child with his family, it was no surprise when he picked up the guitar. After about a year, Azuri was already playing blues and jazz gigs around Los Angeles. At age 14, his studies moved towards world music and jazz after he was introduced to a life long mentor, Bruce Buckingham from Musicians Institute. This relationship among others, would lay the bedrock for Azuri’s diverse musical interests and capabilities.
At age 16 Azuri founded the group Ship of The Rising Sun, a rock/fusion group geared at bringing back stadium/anthem music while pushing sound forward with world and jazz influences. Azuri graduated from The Musicians Institute with a B.M in guitar performance. He also plays piano, bass, and vocals. When he’s not teaching he’s composing, performing with his band, and performing as a session player.
A dazzling guitarist and multi-instrumentalist, Azuri is comfortable teaching jazz, rock, funk, latin, afro-cuban, metal, country, and pop. He is patient and laid-back in his teaching style which inspires his students.
